Hi everybody again! My second post already! told you I'll be updating hehe. Aren't you all glad common test over? I AM! At least for a period of time coz next thursday the whole sec 3s have to sit for english paper re-test. Sickening right? Everyone failed i think or no time...one of them but...AH!!! oh well

A quick update on Saints Aflame. We're progressing pretty....slow. The WP had thier first rehearsal today. It was NOT BAD for a change haha! Yup...the behind-the-scenes stuff are still under construction...nothing much is done yet...so next week gonna be rushrushrush! Please keep praying for this event and for a revival to take place in S.A!!!!

Yeah...eh..if you see this, please be not that there will be a meeting for ALL SFC MEMBERS on MONDAY, 26 FEB 2.30pm.

Hi everyone! I finally have access to this page. Whoohoo! Thanks to Shaun for the permission to help out with this nearly dead blog! I hereby declare....oh nvm. I'll do my part in the taking-care of this blog so...yeah! since i'm on com almost everyday hehe (don't learn from me).

This week is Common Test week!!!!! Everyone studied already? haha. Honestly, i just started....bad me right? lol. But do well and we get to look forward to CHINESE NEW YEAR!!!! I'm sure a lot of us would like that red packet...if not then I am! haha. So yupsyups. Have fun studying ok?

erm...a bit late notice but if today is a monday. 2mr we're gonna discuss about Saints Aflame from 2.30-3.30. One short hour so that you all can go back and mug (study!). So yeah....the special planning comm has little time to settle quite a number of things, so do keep us in prayer. :)

Ok! thats my first post of the whole time since i read this blog. so yeah. now what i suggest you do is close this window, shut down and GO STUDY!!! GOGOGO! why are u even here in the 1st place!?!?!?

Hey guys im very sorry for not updating for so long.. I guess iv'e been too focused on sudying for o's tt i have forgotten on my Sfc commitments.

Anw what has been happening during the 1st month of 2007:
-SFC has inducted 3 new sec 1 confirmed members
-As well as 1 sec 2 member, Kevin: PAUL CHEW's bro :)
-Some SFC members have gone on a mission trip during the recent hols.

Anyways, it is the holidays! For most of you, it is a time where you can spend time wif family and friends, enjoy yourself and go out to relax and watch a movie or two... Just wanna remind all of you to use this holiday wisely and always remember never to neglect our one and only Saviour, Jesus Christ!

So wanna say God Bless all of you and wish to see you when school starts and as SFC also starts... For Secondary 4's, this is going to be our last term at SFC before we end our roles to concentrate on studying hard... So all the best and God Bless!

Hi guys... As u all know, the Da vinci Code Movie is going to be screened soon... If I'm not wrong, it will be screened fron 19th of May... Well, here are some stuff i took from the RBC website... u can go dere to check it out...

The Storyline:
While in Paris on business, a Harvard professor named Robert Langdon receives an urgent call. The curator of the Louvre art museum has been found murdered. The police are baffled by an encoded message left by the dead man and written with his own blood. Langdon follows the trail of this mystery, which leads to clues left in the works of Leonardo Da Vinci. He joins forces with cryptologist Sophie Neveu, the curator's granddaughter, and together they discover that the dead curator was part of a secret society, the Priory of Sion, whose members included Isaac Newton, Victor Hugo, and Leonardo Da Vinci. Behind the scenes, a Catholic lay organization called Opus Dei is plotting to prevent the discovery of an ancient secret about the Holy Grail, kept hidden by the Priory of Sion for centuries. If discovered, the secret would shake the foundations of the church and the faith it has proclaimed for millennia.

Well, from the storyline u can't really tell wad is in it yea... But this are some of the author Dan Brown's claims...

1. Holy Grail
According to The Da Vinci Code, the legendary Holy Grail is not the chalice used at the Last Supper of Christ. Instead, Brown uses his fictional "experts" to suggest that the real Holy Grail is a person, Mary Magdalene, who carried the bloodline of Jesus Christ by having His child.

The book also treats as fact the existence of a secret society called the Priory of Sion, which for centuries has kept the secret of Jesus' relationship to Mary. Mary Magdalene, according to this bestselling novel, represents the feminine aspect of God (the "divine feminine")—loved by Jesus but denied by the church for hundreds of years. The Knights Templar are also included as protectors of the secret but were all but wiped out by the church.

The Holy Grail and the Priory of Sion are only two of the many "facts" that need to be subjected to a historical reality check.

The Holy Grail is a medieval legend about the cup of the Last Supper. The first appearance of the term Holy Grail was in 1170 in Perceval, a romantic writing about the legend of King Arthur and his kingdom of Camelot. When Brown suggests that the Holy Grail is not a cup but actually Mary Magdalene who carried on Jesus' bloodline, he alters an existing legend about the historical "cup of Christ" and uses it to advance fictional claims about Jesus and Mary.

The Priory of Sion also has a basis in fact, but not in the sense that Brown portrays it. The title has been used three different times. It was first a monastic order founded in Jerusalem in 1100 that was absorbed into the Jesuits in 1617.

The second and third versions of the Priory of Sion were each under the leadership of Pierre Plantard (1920-2000), an anti-Semitic Frenchman who went to jail in 1953 for fraud. In 1954, Plantard formed a group called the Priory of Sion to help those in need of low-cost housing. The group dissolved in 1957. Then in the 1960s and 70s, he created a series of forged documents to "prove" the existence of a bloodline descending from Jesus and Mary through the kings of France to himself (claiming to be the rightful heir to the throne). He and his associates called themselves the Priory of Sion and deposited these documents in libraries all over France, including the National Library.

In 1993, however, Plantard admitted under oath to a French judge that he had fabricated all the documents relating to the Priory of Sion. The judge issued him a severe warning and dismissed him as a harmless crank (www.priory-of-sion.com).

The Knights Templar are based in history but, once again, not as portrayed in The Da Vinci Code. They were founded in 1118 as a military religious order, but they did not become wealthy, as alleged in the novel, by discovering the secret of the Holy Grail. And there is no evidence that they were annihilated for having knowledge of it.

The significance of the Priory of Sion is bolstered in the plotline of The Da Vinci Code by claiming a little-known connection with such geniuses as Leonardo Da Vinci and Isaac Newton. Once again, however, Brown bases these assertions on one of Plantard's forged documents called Les Dossiers Secrets d'Henri Lobineau ("The Secret Records Of Henri Lobineau"). Even though a French judge got Plantard to admit his hoax, Dan Brown uses these "secret records" as if they were legitimate.

These facts are important to readers of The Da Vinci Code. If there is no credible evidence that Leonardo Da Vinci and Isaac Newton were secretly involved in the Priory of Sion, and if there is only fraudulent evidence that the Priory of Sion was formed to keep "the secret of Mary Magdalene," other factual claims of The Da Vinci Code also need to be questioned.

2. Goddess Worship
Goddess worship was a form of fertility religion practiced widely among ancient people. In the Mediterranean area alone, the "goddess" was represented by Astarte, Isis, Ishtar, Anat, Kybele, Demeter, Aphrodite, and many other local deities. We know more about later forms of goddess worship that existed in places about which there are historical records and where there are significant archeological remains.

Fertility religions were based on the passing of the seasons—alternating times of harvest and plenty, scarcity and hardship. Fertility was personified by a goddess, and her consort—often a young god—went through an annual cycle of death and rebirth. Worshipers of the goddess practiced a kind of "magic" that usually relied on sexual ritual and human sacrifice to ensure the continuing favor and fertility of the goddess and her consort (Leviticus 20:2 ; Deuteronomy 18:10 ; 2 Kings 21:6 ; Psalms 106:38 ; Jeremiah 7:31 ; Ezekiel 23:37 , etc.). The Old Testament and a broad range of other sources make it clear that such worship involved the use of both male and female "sacred prostitutes" ( Deuteronomy 23:18 ) and involved ecstatic frenzy, sometimes including self-laceration and self-emasculation ( 1 Kings 18:28 ). Well, dere are many other claims that Dan Brown wrote in his book... Do not be tricked becos the way he writes are convincing... I advice u to read more on the facts rather than in the fiction... The website is http://www.rbc.org/davinci/index.php

well, has it been a great week of commemarating Jesus's death on the cross... he death and resurrection has not been proven wrong till this day and on easter, my church sang "He Lives, He Lives, Christ Jesus Lives today". Amen?!

Hahas... Well, let us always remember tad God sent his only son(imagine if u sent ur only son) to die on the cross. I love Jesus so much and I hope those who are reading this do too... =))

God answered all of the saint's prayers... when we won the rugby finals, it was a miracle hahas... an answered prayer... it was totally unexpected...

u see? God answers all of us in his special ways and mostly unexpected moments... just remember... whatever request u may have, just talk to God, like u r talking to ur best friend, and i am sure he will answer u in his special way...

Just remember, God's love for u is so great that he sent his son to die for u... wad can he not do? Nothing is impossible with our great God... Amen?!

Revival.

During our recess prayer today,
we had a mini discussion on Revival.
Revival is a word commonly seen and
used in Christiandom.
Yet many of us do not know
much about revival.
so. the 1 million dollar question..

What is Revival?

There are many definitions of revival,
some think that revival is a feeling,
or a tangible presence of God in the church.
These are but manifestations of what it really is.
Charles Finney said,
"Revival is renewed conviction of sin and repentance,
followed by an intense desire to live in obedience to God.
It is giving up one's will to God in deep humility."

When should we expect a revival?

1. When there is a spirit of prayer for revival.
2. When there is confession of sins to one another.

It is true that God works on His own timings,
that our prayers cannot buy a revival,
but God makes it clear that if we fulfill the conditions
of revival, He will bring it..

What are the conditions of revival?

1. Repentance from Sin (2 Chron 7:14)
2. The Holy Life (1 John 4:22)

These and some others are the requisites of revival.
When we start also to pray desperately for the lost,
revival is near!

Why prayer?

Prayer is a key to revival because it brings us to brokenness,
which just means we depend solely on God for His divine power.
To pray intensely is really the key.
Even Jesus prayed this kind of prayer on earth.
- Hebrews 5:7
This kind of prayers involved DEEP DESIRES,
that is why you see people crying and screaming,
as if groaning with a terrible stomach ache.
What really is happening is that we want so much
for souls to be saved that we groan in desperation.

I pray that God will teach us all to bear this kind of burdens.
One of the ways to cultivate this is to consider the plight,
the end, the guilt and the punishment of sinners,
your friends!

Remember that this is not an emotion, it can be,
but most times it is just a deep desire like
a deep desire to get the latest handphone,
but much deeper. =D

So, believe in revival, that it can happen!
It has happened before.
Not only to people in the past,
but in recent times.

Here is an excerpt from a dairy,
of someone, from Singapore.

"15/1/03 Wednesday
It has been a great time since I last wrote.
The revival movement has begun.
Last wed, 7 of us gathered to pray.
For the first time, brokenness was the thing
and going to serve God was also another.
We warred in the spirit and got a breakthrough,
praise God.
The next day we met to pray,
though some couldn't make it.
The anointing of God rested upon us to pray
individually for our friends.
We did. Powerful.

The weekend was filled with attacks from the enemy,
clearly seeking to quench the revival.
We got together on Monday and realised all of us got it!
We praise God that we were on the correct track
and thanked God by faith at the work that is to be done.

That day, 3 people agreed to the baptism of the Holy Spirit,
2 got challenged in their Christian walk
and 1 agreed to come to church.
Little did we realize that God was going to pour out more.
The next day, yesterday,
A (a person) had class fellowship.
The presence of our glorious Lord came down and touched the people.
All 7 left the fellowship with a touch from God.
The move had indeed begun."

In this account, God moved so much.
Can you imagine what would happen if God did this all around?
The same God who did this 3 years ago in a school in Singapore
can do it in St.Andrew's!
It can happen!
Just pray and trust God.
Let's believe in a revival because it is coming.

Hi SFC!

I'm sure all who participated in the Fund-Raising Drinks Selling Stall
yesterday at the sports days enjoyed themselves.
I'm sure you guys learnt a lot too!

I learnt a lot myself too.
Besides the fact that you can actually get "frostbites"
by selling cold drinks.
Besides the fact that Theodore could actually get his shorts
wet just by standing at the counter.
Besides the fact that Moses can go "Clarence, Clarence" and
" Go, Clarence, go" in some weird, weird and even weirder accent.
Besides the fact that Jerald enjoys ice-cream.
Besides the fact that Miss.Yong can be mistaken for an auntie
when selling drinks.
Besides the fact that you can make more $$ by selling drinks on
sports day than selling drinks at the student cafe for a year.

I got a deeper insight into serving.
It was much easier being a hawker than a captain planet.
Hahaha.
This means it was much easier being the one selling drinks
at the stall than being the one walking around the stadium
picking up trash.
I guess many of us like me wants to be in the midst of the action
and not somewhere else doing some dirty work.

I embarked on my Captain Planet mission at the end of the Sports day.
Walkin around with this trash bag.
I thought I felt more joyful picking up trash than from spending time
at the stall.
I'm not kidding.
So all you guys who weren't Captain Planets,
you missed out on something great! =D

Lol.
Anyways.
We have gotta learn to be like the Captain Planets ya?
All of us wanna serve at the frontline.
Worship Team. Organisers for the major events.
That is great!
But are we willing to serve in lesser areas?
In areas where noone really bothers about what you're doing.
In areas where you have to get real dirty.
Lets have a heart of a servant okie?

New year, new layout!

As you can see, our dearest SFC webbie has a new layout!
I thought the old layout was pretty overwhelming,
so this new one is much simpler.
Don't you think it is nicer too?

There have been a few meetings in 2006 already.
A number of photos were taken and they will
be up on this webbie very soon!

and good news!
SFC had a new record attendance last week!
31 of us came last thursday, 9th feb.
Isn't that great? Praise God ya?

Well, that record certainly won't last for long!

in our next meeting!

What is youth to you? --- A time of energy, adventure, playing, hanging out, sleeping late… studying…Well, youth is precious! Your youthful years come and go in the blink of the eye. It is a limited period of your life. The fact is: It’s a once in a lifetime thing.The question is: What are you going to use your youthful years for?Are you going to waste it by doing wrong things? OR Are you going to use it wisely?Today, I read from Jeremiah 6 v 16-17 [NLT]... it saysSo now the LORD says, "Stop right where you are! Look for the old, godly way, and walk in it. Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls. But you reply, 'No, that's not the road we want!' I set watchmen over you who said, 'Listen for the sound of the trumpet!' But you replied, 'No! We won't pay attention!'This passage calls for a time of reflection. To stop where we are and look for the godly path of life, to listen to the watchmen’s call. But many of us have chosen to ignore these instructions from God.Today, God once again calls out to us through this passage in His Word. Are we going to take heed of it? Or are we going to rebel against Him again? I’m sure a good number of us have heard the story of Adam & Eve. Well, they made a wrong decision by choosing to eat what God told them not to and thus had to face the consequences. The Lord wants the best for you because He loves you and so He beckons you to the ancient path of godliness. And even says that when you travel it, you will find rest for your souls. And not only that, God loved us so much that He sent His Son Jesus to die so that we could live. And not only did Jesus die, He rose again and is alive, that we His children can experience His power and guidance in our lives. Now, all we have to do is to choose which path we want to take.Saints, let us heed the Word of God today and allow Him to show us the best way to live. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.

1 Peter 5:7

In this passage, we are called to cast our anxiety on Jesus, simply because He cares for us.When we are going through trials, Jesus knows and waits with open arms to help us. He waits for us to run into His arms.

There were times when I went through trials, we all do. And when I do, I look up my friends to share my troubles and they would often remind me to turn to Jesus and commit all my troubles to Him.

Sometimes, we think we can soldier on alone through the trial. However, we can’t really make it all by ourselves. We all need someone to lean on, someone to give us encouragement, someone to give us the listening ear. And when you think that you are alone, think again. Because Jesus is there, He will never leave you or forsake you.

Even as the Mid-Year exams come to an end, are you anxious about the outcome of your results? Perhaps you are going through life’s trial and are anxious about it? For fellow graduating saints and our teachers, perhaps you are anxious about the Mother Tongue O’ Level and the exams that are around the corner.

If you are anxious or just bothered by whatever you are going through, why not commit your troubles to Jesus. He cares for you.
